How did they get rid of the dragon in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone?

In the book, Ron writes to his brother Charlie who works with dragons in Romania. Harry and Hermione take Norbert to the Astronomy tower and give him to Charlie and his friends who take him away on broomsticks.
In the movie, Dumbledore gets rid of Norbert.

∙ 8y agoWhen trying to figure out what to do about Norbert, Ron suggests his brother Charlie who works with dragons in Romania. He writes him a letter explaining the situation and receives a reply telling him to get it to the top of the tallest tower at midnight and they'll take it away.
Ron was bitten by Norbert and had to go the hospital wing (where Draco Malfoy who knew about the dragon came to torment him and found out about the plan) so Harry and Hermione had to take Norbert there alone. Charlie and three of his friends made a harness which they attached to their broomsticks to carry Norbert.
In the movie, this was cut and Hagrid mentions that Dumbledore had him sent to Romania.
