∙ 11y agoYes, production on "The Dark Knight Rises" will begin in April 2011. It is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2012, almost exactly four years after "The Dark Knight" opened to a record-breaking $158.4 million in 2008.

∙ 12y agoThe third and final film is called "The Dark Knight Rises" which is set for release on July 20, 2012. Christian Bale is playing Batman for the last time. Michael Caine is returning as the butler Alfred, Gary Oldman is returning as Commissioner Gordon, and Morgan Freeman is returning as Lucius Fox. Tom Hardy is joining as the villain Bane and Anne Hathaway is joining as Selina Kyle (Catwoman).

Unlike previous versions of the character- this Bruce Wayne will be an older man who already has years of experience in crime-fighting. He will be introduced by meeting the current Superman who is being played by Henry Cavill.
