Vibrational Motion is the motion of a body during which it moves to and fro about its fixed position.

On the other hand, When the patricles of a substance are disturbed due to vibration, they transfer the energy to the neighbouring particles which in turn forms a wave; and when multiples waves move away from the point of disturbence we see a wave motion.

In quantum mechanics, physicists use the language of mathematics to describe phenomena that occurs at the smallest level of what we call "reality" or matter. Using the English language, the best possible explanation for the difference between particle vibration and wave motion is that they are the same thing, only described differently because of the experiments done with photons (light particles), which are both particles and waves, depending on how the experiment is set up.

The vibration of particles is understood to be the movement of electrons around an atom. Shrodinger believed this movement to be like a cloud, surrounding the particle. Max Born described the vibrating electrons of a particle as a "probability wave."

A vibration is the change over a period of time and the wave is a length traveled during the vibration period. The vibration period and the wave length define the speed c=wf where w is the wavelength and f is the frequency of vibration or the reciprocal of period.
