there is not many disadvantages of HTML code editors but there are allot of advantages. HTML code editors can be helpful to others just as much as to them self's if not more. HTML code editors usually design websites and or web pages like the one this answer is on. the disadvantages all depend on the HTML code editor. example of a HTML code editor that has a disadvantage would be a HTML code editor that over advertises.

* HTML Advantage: HTML is the base of a webpage. It is the language that truly "builds" the page with tables, divisions, and outputting text in certain formats, such as bold and underlined fonts. It's presence is dominating the web - it is the most widely accepted language for web design. The answer to this question is opinion based. The main advantage to using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is that it's user friendly and very productive for formatting different fonts in the same document. The disadvantage is that it is a basic code and cannot execute detail. You would have to use CSS to really incorporate detail and make your webpage vibrant. Another disadvantage is that it's not a 'execution script' and cannot run commands like PHP can. You would have to incorporate JS or PHP to show time, etc. However, it can be good if you want a simple marquee and a few images.

CSS separates the content that is in the HTML from the presentation aspects of the page(s) that is in the CSS.

Advantages are that it is possible to reformat multiple pages by changing one external stylesheeet. I often use three, one basic one that contains rudimentary formats for elements, a specialized one (when needed) that may be specific to only that page or a few pages (both with media="screen" defined in the link) and a print stylesheet (media="print") in the link. The print version removes the unneeded graphical elements.

Disadvantages are the ability to overdo the CSS. Very large ones or multiples can cause slow rendering as the browser must parse all the information. Badly built ones can cuases problems with the browser as it tries to figure out what is meant. As a rule I will not use the @import value or the universal selector (*) at any time. These seem to cause problems in lots of cases.

Since rules of specificity call for the last stylesheet to have precedence, repetious use of ID's and Classes's can slow things down. That is bloat.
