Where is the ignition module located on a 1989 Dodge d150 pickup truck?

The ignition module for this vehicle is mounted on the driver side fender well just below the hood hinge and behind a round vacuum diaphram.It is rectangle in shape and has a connector plug at one end(facing towards the front of the vehicle)and is mounted on a aluminum base with cooling fins(much like a small lawn mower engine)

∙ 17y agoIt is located under the hood on the center of the firewall. You will see a multi wire connector with a bolt in the center attached to the module. As I may be dealing with a dead module myself, please contact me and perhaps we can share information. (mjluneack@sbcglobal.net)

∙ 16y agoI have the same year and make of pickup. the problem is in 1988 depending on how early or how late in the year it was produced it could have 2 different ignition systems. if its a late model like mine it wont have an ignition module. late models ran a hall effects pick up in the distributor. which just relays a signal to the computer and tells it when to ground the coil to send spark to the distributor. but on the early models it should be on the fire wall or the drivers side fender well. good luck hope this helps you
