User Comments: "Papa" Joe more should've won the NAACP Image Award instead of Greg Mathis (don't get me wrong, I do love Greg Mathis); because Papa Joe has a mission. He wants black men to grow up, take care of their homes, their women, their children, and to stop being a nuisance and hazard to their communities. He wants black women to grow up and raise their children so that their boys are real men and their girls are women who recognize that. He wants all women to stop taking care of little boys walking like grown men. Papa Joe is gruff, but demonstrates a knowledge of what will make a person "whole." Although he looks as if he's not paying attention, don't go there. If you're steppin' foul and think you're hidin' it, think again. Papa Joe enjoys good gossip as long as its relevant to the case and ain't hurtin' nobody, but if it gets out of hand, he'll cut to the chase. (Although I think he should cut more quickly than he does - all of that drama gets tiresome real quick. Of all the "judge" shows I view, Papa Joe comes behind most of the female judges when it comes to court control. I think that's because he's laid back and tolerates stupidity very well.) All in all he gets my vote.
