What is the difference between the pulmanary vein and the pulmanary artery?

For the most part, arteries carry oxygenated blood and veins carry de-oxygenated blood. This is opposite in the pulmonary veins and arteries because they are going to and from the lungs to get oxygen.

∙ 15y agoThe pulmonary artery takes de-oxygenated blood from heart to lungs, whilst the pulmonary vein takes oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart.

∙ 14y agoWhat makes these blood vessels unusual is that the pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood (instead of oxygenated), and the pulmonary vein transports oxygenated blood, not oxygen-poor.
