No fence paint does not have as much wax in it and it wont last very long before you have to paint it again. As decking has a lot of foot traffic as obviously a fence does not. Take it from me I found out the hard way.
Yes deck paint is more expensive but will last a long time.

∙ 11y agoAfter the deck has weathered to the point of being gray, approximately six months, you can prime, then paint the deck. However, many solid color stains are designed to go over fresh pressure treated wook without any problems down the road.

Deck paint is usually formulated to be more resistant to foot traffic, so deck paint will look better for longer and you won't have to re-paint as often..
