The French and Indian War is called the 7 years war in England. It was fought in the middle of the 18th century and had major consequences for the French, British and Americans. The French lost virtually all of New France and were effectively kicked out of North America by the British. The British all of North America all the way to the Mississippi River. One after-effect of the war for the British was massive debt that they attemped to tax their American colonies to relieve. It didnt work out so well for the Brits
I think the French should have won the French and Indian war. The French werent a threat to the English at all. England owned the 13 colonies and northern Canada, while France owned lower Canada, (the St. Lawrence River) and the middle area of the US. The French and English were fighting over the Ohio River Valley, which the French found fairly and had already built forts for themselves. Also, the French reached out to neighboring Indians such as the Huron and Algonquins which were enemies of the Iroquois. England had already tampered with the taxing of products, (the Navigation Acts) so it isnt like they needed the extra land in North America. The English also wanted the Ohio River Valley because they were overcrowded in the 13 Colonies, which the French didnt have a problem with because they limited the number of people who were allowed to come. (At first, only French-Catholic men could come, and then later French-Catholic families could come) Overall, the French plan was more strategic, so they should have won the French and Indian war
The British, by capturing the capital of New France, Quebec, in the Battle of Quebec in 1759.
The British won. If the french had won then we would be speaking french in America instead of english.

The French and Indian War was part of the Seven Years' War. The British were one side and the French and Indian alliance the other. Eventually the British won.
The French and Indian War is misleading because The French and the Indians were actually on the same side, fighting against the British. The British won however and gained the majority of North America as their land.

The British, who were aided by some native tribes and their colonists, won against the French and their native allies.
The French and Indian War affected the modern times because for example, if the British didn't win the America's wouldn't be speaking English. If the French won, then the colonists in the Americas would be speaking French as of today. But since British won, the citizens in America now speak English because our mother country, Britain, won the French and Indian War.

1. The French and Indian War was mainly about the ownership of the Ohio River Valley. Both the British and the French wanted it. The reason it is called the French AND the Indian War was because some of the Indians allied with the French because the French had helped the Indians previously. 2. Who won? The British won.
