The Jewish superstition of not writing GOD's name gave way to LORD . If GOD did not want us to know and write his name HE would not have given it to us. LORD is YHWH ( Hebrew) or Jehovah (English). Lord in small caps refers to Jesus. This superstition is also passed down and imitated by Christians in there bibles also, which in turn causes confusion. A more accurate translation of a bible will replace Jehovah's name in almost 7,000 places. A good place to see the confusionis in Acts 2:21 , Peter was quoting Joel 2:32. Now in Joel it's LORD or Jehovah, but in acts it's Lord. If Peter was quoting Joel he would be saying who ever calls on the name of Jehovah would be saved, but the mistake is , calling upon the name of Jesus because it is in small caps in acts 2:21. So Peter in order to quote accurately in Joel it is Jehovah not Jesus. That's why we can't use the Jewish superstition an need to replace the name of GOD.
