The person that wrote the quoted response above is an ignorant racist. Honolulu was the site of the Royal palace. Hawaiian was stolen from the Hawaiian people by the missionaries, businessmen, and the American Imperial empire.
For the above quoted genius, the correct word to use is "there" not "their", and the word involved has two "v"s in it.

∙ 8y agoIt was chosen as such by the native people of Hawaii, In 1845, Kamehameha III moved the permanent capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom from Lahaina on Maui to Honolulu. The city has been the capital of the Hawaiian Islands since 1845.
The proximity of Pearl Harbor anchorage was probably an important factor in the choice.
