Why is Barack Obama so important?

Barack Obama is so important because he is the first black president for the United States. He also makes a change and he is the leader of our country! If you ask me Barack Obama made and is still making a huge impact on the United States of America!

Barack Obama was America's first black president. That in itself is noteworthy, but Mr. Obama also had a number of accomplishments during his eight years in the White House. Some people say his most important achievement happened after he took office: he rescued the American economy from a severe recession, and his policies prevented the US from sinking into an economic depression. He also saved the American auto industry from collapse, and championed a healthcare law that helped more than 20 million people to gain coverage for the first time.

Of course, not everyone agreed with him; but even though congress was able to delay or thwart much of his agenda (and many members of the Republican party opposed everything he tried to do), polls showed that he remained extremely popular with the majority of the American public throughout his presidency.
