Tortoises are slow, but turtles (which swim in fresh water or salt water) are actually quite fast.
Tortoises are so slow because mainly of the heavy shell they carry on their back. In addition, not known to many people, their legs are naturally spread apart, so that also provides difficulty to walking, and slows it down considerably.
Turtles are fast because their shell is flat (unlike the dome shell of a tortoise), and they have webbed feet with powerful muscles to help them swim. They are usually slow when on land, but fast when in water.
I can not answer that question but you could probably find the answer to that question if you put an s after turtle
If you had a really big shell on your back wouldn't you walk slow? Oh and they have webbed feet i guess that's another reason :P
turtles on land are slow but in water they are faster than you can swim!
The term "Slow" is based on your perspective. From our perspective, turtles are slow because they move slower than we do and, indeed, even slower than other things their size. This is only true, however, on land. In the water they are actually very fast. For instance, a green turtle in the sea can reach nearly 20mph. So, the belief that turtles are slow is based on the perspective of a land creature, which turtles are for only brief periods of their life.
On land turtles are very slow, moving as slow as .2mph. In the water, however, some turtles can reach 22mph.
yes their both reptiles, stay in the sea, and are slow.
they swim fast because that's how they are!
Sloths, turtles... Are elephants slow? You know because they are so big. Crocodiles are slow when they walk.
Because turtles are slow.. Hahahahahaha get their slow.
it means to be a host like you can host anything like a TV show also it is to be slow because turtles are slow so the full definition is a host of anything who is also slow at it
