Ponds could firstly be considered excellent habitats for any number of organisms that require a certain amount of food. Also, ponds can help function to a small extent in gathering nearby water that would otherwise allow flooding to occur easier,allowing animals to have more nearby sources of water that are easier to come upon.

Ponds are so important because lots of animals or plants live in their such as frogs, fishes, Lilly pads, and much more so that's why they are so important for the ecosystem!
