It's located on the firewall behind the windshield washer container.
Actually, mine is located immediatelly under the Drver's side dash board to the left of the steering column.It is a White and black box about 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 by 1 inch. resting on top of a steel plate held down by one screw.

∙ 15y agoProblem with headlights staying on all the time unless the battery disconected. Hi beam indacator also on all the time. Replace the DRL Module on a 1998 Cherokee located on the passenger front inner fender next to the firewall.

On my brother's 1995 Jeep Cherokee, as well as my 1992 Jeep Cherokee (Both with the 4.0L engine) the OBD1 connector is located in the engine compartment on the left side, between the air cleaner and the computer module. It's a funny looking plug, not the standard OBD connector.
