The heart is located under the rib cage between the lungs, with slightly more to the left of midline than the right.
The human heart, which is normally about the size of your fist, is located behind and to the left of your breastbone, also called the sternum. Watch this animation to learn more about your heart and how it works.
right behind your ribcage & a little to the left in the center of your body
The heart lies within the thorax in the body. This location is called the mediastinum.

The heart is about the size of your fist and is located sub-sternal, center thoracic, superior to the stomach with the apex on the left.

In the thoracic cavity, which is the chest cavity. The heart is protected by the ribs.

The heart is located behind your rib cage between the lungs slightly to the left of the breast bone.

Many will state that it is in the center of the chest. In a way they are partially right. The right ventricle and atrium are located partially to the right of the Breast bone. However since the left ventrical is the largest part of the heart, and is on the left side. That puts the large majority of the mass on the left side of the breast bone. Therefore anatomically speaking the Heart is just slightly to the left of the breast Bone.

Smooth muscle is located on the walls of hollow organs, cardiac muscle is located on the wall of the heart, and skeletal muscle is located on skeletal muscle organs (most organs). Their functions include movement in walls of hollow organs, pumping of blood, and movement of bones, heat production and posture, respectively. Cardiac and smooth muscle are involuntary, whereas skeletal muscle is voluntary. Both cardiac and skeletal muscles have striations, but smooth muscle does not.
