There is no scientific reason yet to why people 'laugh' when something is funny.
Scientists are still trying to figure out why, so until they figure it out, it will always remain a mystery.
I THINK ITS AN EMOTION OF COARSE , WHEN PEOPLE GET HURT THEY ARE UPSET, WHEN PEOPLE GET INTO AN ARGUEMENT THEIR IS SOME TYPE OF EMOTION THERE. BUT WHEN A PERSON LAUGH LIKE I SAID ITS AN EMOTION BECAUSE I GUESS LIKE WHEN SOMETHING IS SAID OUT OF THE ORDINARY OR DONE OUT THE ORDINARY IN A GOOFY NON-SERIOUS WAY WE LAUGH BECAUSE ITS IMPERFECTION, IDK GET IT! ,OK SO THATS ALL I GOT.

∙ 13y agoThere is some thought that the mind is neural net where ideas are linked as thy happen. When a unique idea or an unexpected connection occurs we acknowledge this with a verbalization (Aha!, Wow!, Yes!, etc.)
The humour in a new joke or sight gag comes from an unexpected juxtaposition of words or images (What is brown and sticky? Ans. A Stick!). This new idea or connection elicits a response (Haha!)
The fact that we don't lugh at the same joke twice indicates that our neural net has already processed that unique connection and does not produce the "new thing" response even if it doe get a graon or a "Heard that already!" response.
