  • Soprano: C4 - C6
  • Mezzo-soprano: A3 - A5
  • Contralto: F3 - F5
  • Tenor: C3 - C5
  • Baritone: G2 - G4
  • Bass / Basso: E2 - E4

Is Madonna's voice alto or soprano?

I believe Monica Is an alto 1 :) highest alto part ;)

Who has an alto voice?

alto is a voice part. for female there are 4 voice parts. soprano 1(high range) soprano 2(medium high range) mezzo-soprano(medium with a darker tone. also know as a "belter") and alto(lower range). So an alto is a lower female voice.

What instrument family does the soprano belong to?

If you mean the soprano 'saxophone' then it is the woodwind family, but if you are talking soprano as in the voice part, then it is the voice family I suppose.

Is Lady Gaga an soprano mezzo soprano or alto?

She would be classified as aMezzo-Soprano because for the following reasons: 1. Her voice ( compared to Christina Aguilera's voice) even though sounds like Christina Aguilera, Christina has a full voice from her upper register typical for a soprano (G3-C5) based on listening to all of her songs from the first album to her latest. Lady GaGa has her full voice in the typical mezzo-soprano range (G3-D4). 2. Even though Alto is not a voice type, mezzo-sopranos and alto are pretty much the same in range, but she is not a contralto (appropriate name for the lower alto part) because her tessitura (voice quality and sound) is not deep enough to qualify her as a contralto. 3. Also take into account that sometimes her notes are modify to sound clearer, but she is really using AutoTunes since the product is designed to help singers stay on pitch, so do not rely on her singing based on her songs heard on the radios. For example, T-Pain has a tenor voice (probably appropriately a heldentenor), but cannot truly tell since Autotunes corrects the pitch which makes it hard to tell if he is comfortable singing the typical tenor notes. My best answers = a mezzo-soprano. Her voice is darker in vocal quality, and her range is not high enough to be a soprano or in full voice in her upper register. Also, not a typical alto (contralto to be correct) since her voice is not the same tessitura as a typical tenor.

Is mezzo-alto is similar to soprano?

No, altos are not the same as mezzo-sopranos. Altos are the lowest voice part, followed by mezzo-soprano. While most of the time they sing harmony to sopranos, they are not the same.

Is a deep female voice called a mezzo soprano?

"Mezzo" is Italian for "middle", so a mezzo soprano is a middle-pitched woman's voice. The higher voice is soprano, of which there are different categories, (lyric, dramatic, coloratura, etc.), depending on the strength of voice required and the duration of the part. The lowest female voice is contralto or alto.

What is the difference between alto and contralto?

Technically speaking, an alto has the same range as a soprano but where the voice "speaks" most beautifully in the range is different. For an alto, the most beautiful, present part of the voice will be middle high, middle and low. For soprano, a voice will be most beautiful in the middle and upper range. A true contralto is a very unusual. It is literally a female voice that shares the range of a male tenor.

What is a soprano role?

The role of the soprano is singing melody and is the highest singing voice. The soprano voice usually an octave above the other parts but not an absolute rule for sometimes the soprano takes the lower notes. Usually this would occur in a choir or a four part song. It goes like this: Soprano, Alto (women) Tenor, Base (usually men) but if a women has a very low range alto voice she can sing a man tenor part.

What is Meaning of Alto and Soprano?

Alto and Soprano are voice parts, along with tenor, baritone and bass. Each part sing in a different pitch range; Soprano is the highest, then alto, tenor, baritone and bass. Tenor, baritone, and bass are traditionally sung by men, while the other two are sung by women.

What are the levels of choir voices?

There are four basic voices in a mixed choir: two female voices: Soprano (high-pitched) and Alto (low), and two male voices: Tenor (high) and Bass (low). Sometimes intermediary voices are added: Mezzo-soprano between Soprano and Alto and Baritone between Tenor and Bass. At other times the male voices may all be combined into a single part. Additionally any of the voice parts may be split up further. In that case the voices are most commonly referred to as first Soprano, second Soprano, first Alto etc. Usually only the four basic voices are subdivided this way, though the second Soprano voice may be referred to as Mezzo-Soprano and the first Bass voice as Baritone. Of course male choirs only have the Tenor, Baritone and Bass voices and female choirs only the Soprano, Mezzo-soprano and Alto voices. An exception is in some types of ancient music (from the renaissance and earlier) where the Alto parts are sung by very high pitched tenors. These are known as Counter-tenors, they sing with the so-called falsetto voice. This practice is quite common in English choirs.

What does Soprano mean in choir?

In a standard SATB (Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass) choral arrangement, the soprano voice sings the highest vocal part written on the music staff. The soprano part is typically sung by a female, although male sopranos do exist in some men's groups. The soprano part is sometimes divided into multiple parts-Soprano 1 typically the highest, Soprano 2 lower, Soprano 3 even lower, etc.
