There does not appear to be a scientific term to specifically describe a fear of skeletons. The skeleton, however, is historically symbolic and has represented many things including death, a major transition in life, and things hidden or secret-keeping (hence the phrase 'skeletons in the closet'). Perhaps in a literal sense, your fear stems from a fear of death or dead things, or bones, or monsters, in general. Symbolically, a fear of skeletons may indicate a fear of change, or of keeping secrets, or the fear of accidentally letting a confidence slip. It is also possible that the fear stems from a bad experience involving a skeleton, perhaps at Halloween.

Necrophobia is the fear of death or dead things.

Teratophobia is the fear of monsters or deformed people.

Tropophobia is the fear of moving or making changes.

Metathesiophobia is the fear of change.

Samhainophobia is the fear of Halloween.

If your fear begins to negatively affect the quality of your life, or your happiness, then please consult with a doctor to help you to address your fear.
