Lithium is the old 'standard' for Bi-polar treatment. Lithium is not well tolerated in many people , however, and generally will keep someone on a 'lower' than even keel.. though you will not fluctuate.

However, there are many other medications for treatment of Bi-polar disorder. Benzodiazepines are used for Mania. Typical Antidepressants are used for general treatment of the disorder. Calcium Channel blockers can be used -- (Blood pressure meds).

Even anti psychotics and anticonvulsants have been shown to have marked success in treatment of some bi-polar cases.

Some simple research will show all of this to be in use -- However, the best approach is to talk with a qualified mental health professional .. preferably one that has a doctorate/M.D and is experienced with the disorder. In other words, your general practitioner is not the best person to get complete treatment from.

Speak immediately with your gynocologist. Any kind of synthetic hormones can cause mood swings and there are so many other alternatives. If you are young, the YAZ pill might be a better alternative for you because it specifically is formulated to address mood swings. Also, if you have pre-existing conditions like being bipolar, it is extremely important that you tell this to your gynocologist so they can recommend a form of birth control that will not aggravate your biological chemistry.

What can I do to help my rabbit gain weight fast are there any pills or medicines I can get to help her?

Feed her her favorite food and give her a lot of it

How do you get off the pill?

Stop taking it, whenever you like. You won't really experience any withdrawal symptoms. Your body is not physically dependent on it. The worst that could happen is possibly some mood swings or an out-of-whack period from the hormone changes. But, this is nothing usually. If you were taking it just to keep your cycle regular, you should seek the advice of the prescribing doctor before you stop taking them. They probably wouldn't have a problem with it, but why would you have asked them to help you in the first place? Also, if you experience extreme mood swings or depression, you should seek medical attention from a professional to help deal with your emotions. Those aren't likely to happen, but it does to some.
