The point values are based on your height and weight. The heavier you are the more points you are allowed. As your weight decreases, you reduce the number of points in order to continue losing weight.

For example:

  • if you weigh more than 250 pounds is 28-35 points
  • 225-250 pounds is 26-33 points
  • 200-224 pounds is 24-31 points
  • 175-199 pounds is 22-29 points
  • 150-174 pounds is 20-27 points
  • 150 pounds or less is 18-25 points.

How much you can lose depends on how much you have to lose. Weight watchers use charts for allowable weights vs lengths vs serving sizes, so if you follow the guidelines there's a limit for how thing WW will let you get.

Sticking with the WW plan will usually lead to a loss rate somewhere between 1-4 lb each week.

To become a Weight Watchers lifetime member, you must maintain your goal weight (set during your initial WW membership) for 6 weeks. This goal must be in the 20-25 BMI range for your height. A doctor can also write a note if they believe that a healthy weight for you would be outside of the BMI chart set forth by WW.
