g7 is a meeting held between finance ministers of the seven industrialised nations of the world to discuss world issues that impact them. the nations are namely us, uk, Italy,France, Canada,Germany,Japan.

g8 is a summit between the heads of the government of the above nations. in addition to the above Russia is also included which makes it group of eight.
