According to the scriptures, Jonah, after bringing forth the message that God had commanded him to bring, sat under a tree and was actually upset at God's compassion towards the Ninevites. In the 4th chapter, and in the 5th through 8th verses in the book of Jonah, we see how Jonah was angry and upset at God for being merciful towards the people. In verse 9, Jonah tells God that " I am angry enough to die." The book ends at that. What happens to Jonah after his dialogue with God, is unknown.
