No. His highest rank is Genin. However, this is only a rank and he has the power of a kage. He also mixed his wind element affinity into the resengan and even took it further by creating Wind Style: Rasenshuriken, something that was deemed impossible to do. Even the 4th Hokage couldn't do it. So, he actually surpassed Kakashi and mastered some kage level jutsu.

∙ 12y agoIn Naruto, the way a Chunin becomes a Jonin is by being selected by other Jonins and maybe taking a test. They haven't really explained that process as much.

∙ 14y agoHe needs to become a chunin first. He may just go straight from genin to Hokage tho too. As far as the series goes now tho, he is just a genin who is the stronger then any ANBU

Why did shikamru become chunin even though he was defeated at the chunin exams?
Not really. Although he did beat Neji, the "judges" didn't think that he was good enough to be a Chunin and the Chunin exams got interrupted as well. Shikamaru did become a Chunin though, because the judges thought that he was good enough to be a Chunin. thats a total lie because in the chunin exams, the judges dint picked, one of the judges was a traitor. and the hokage was bussy fighting orochimaro. so even if they did picked naruto, naruto would of become chunin because naruto was the strongest one from there. shikamaru wouldnt win because he lost to temari. they became chunin because they went to the chunin exams on the next year while naruto was training with jiraiya.so stop making up lies.
