The design and creation of monuments are architects who wish to make an artistic statement with their creations.

Behind every monument is often a message the architect wishes to make. As one example we have the Statue of Liberty. The designer was a Frenchman, Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi. Yes he was a sculptor, and an engineer, Gustave Eiffel had to produce the construction. Yet all in all its a grand piece of architecture that conveys in many ways the idea of "liberty".
