These imperialistic nations all sought a degree of power or perhaps a "nicer" term would be "spheres of influence" in different sections of China. In order that conflict among the various predatory nations intent on taking advantage of China, different spheres of influence were divided among them. The following nations practiced Imperialism in China: Great Britain, France, Russia, Japan, Germany and the US.
