Most people attempt to make themselves pass out through choking or another form of asphyxiation. The most dangerous consequence is quite obviously death. Deaths from the "choking game" pop up all over the world on a near-constant basis. Brain damage is a leader in choking game participants' most frequent injuries as the lack of oxygen being delivered to tissues causes cells to die. Also chemical asphyxiation through "huffing" can cause brain damage in similar fashion as the chemicals prevent oxygen from attaching itself to blood cells. Causing yourself to blackout presents a variety of risks and IS NOT a safe activity.
