∙ 12y agoIts a toss up between North Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh trail in both Laos and Cambodia. South VN certainly received a lot of tonnage, but artillery & rockets were able to be used in South VN thus supplementing the bombs; whereas artillery/rockets obviously couldn't be used very much in North VN/Laos/Cambodia, consequently "bombs" were used almost extensively in those places.

The US Navy Iowa Class battleship USS New Jersey fired 2,000 lb 16" shells (nearly 6,000 of them) during the war. This battleship was intended to deliver the same ordnance that the airmen were delivering to target...without risking men and jets.
