As Rome expanded its empire eastward, it came up against the Persian empire. Although Rome may have been a greater power in the Mediterranean region, Persia had comparative advantages in its home territory and was able to resist the Roman advance.

As with any empire in history, it was always limited by how far away it was from home and also the difficultly of getting enough food to your troops every day in order to sustain any campaign. The longer the supply chain is, the easier it becomes to ambush in enemy territory. An example of this would be the Desert War between Rommel and Montgomery in WWII where supplies of fuel and food became harder to control as tanks advanced across the desert.

What are the results of the fall of rome in medieval europe?

According to most historians, Rome fell in 476, and this began the Middle Ages. At that time, the authority of the West Roman Empire had already crumbled, and was recognized as something to be obeyed in very few areas. It continued to be recognized for only a few years after that in the West, but continued for centuries in the East, until 1453, when Constantinople fell. Roman law continued to be practiced even in the West, but the time after the fifth century was chaotic for several centuries. During this time, the Germanic tribal groups that had taken over they various parts of the empire had to figure out how to integrate their own customs with those of the people who lived under them, and wars and uncertainty continued. During this time, the Church remained as a place where learning was important. But the mess the West was in made difficult for trade or education to prosper, and this all had to be worked out before things could be really right again. But by the time the Carolingian Empire was founded in 800, a good deal of progress had been made.

What separates the westerns and eastern hemisphere?

By most standards, the prime meridian (which runs through Greenwich, England) as the eastern edge of the Western Hemisphere (and the western edge of the eastern hemisphere) and its longitudinal opposite at 180 degrees longitude (west or east, which runs through the Pacific Ocean) being the western edge of the western hemisphere and the eastern edge of the eastern hemisphere. The time zones known as Greenwich Mean Time and the International Date Line are sometimes alternatively used to demark the western from eastern hemispheres, but the would not be true hemispheres as those time zones are not straight longitudes.
