Loose snow avalanche and slab avalanche are the two basic types of avalanches. The type of avalanches that we generally see picturized in cartoon shows - starting from a single point and expanding during descent is loose snow avalanche. These avalanches do not generally cause much harm, as they are minor in nature.
The lee slope is not actually an aspect of an avalanche itself, but it can be a cause if an avalanche. It is the sheltered side of a peak or slope that is not exposed to wind and sunlight. If snow accumulates here, daily freezing and thawing from contact with sunlight, as well as the action of wind that normally would blow loose snow away, will not have as great of affect in moving loose snow and keeping the snow packed with layers of ice. This snow could avalanche easily.
A man-made avalanche is one that is caused by humans, it usually involved placing explosives into an area where an avalanche is to be created, and detonated, to make the loose snow fall as an avalanche.
an avalanche is when a large amount of snow breaks loose and sides down a mountain slop.
the temp. increases from global warming this will probably produce more meltwater and so possible more chance of slab avalanches. Also snow could melt causing massive snow packs to collapse causing a loose snow avalanche.
The sudden sliding of snow is called an avalanche. Usually when there is an avalanche there is a lot of snow that slides from on top of a mountain.
An avalanche is a mixture of loose sand, rock, and water (usually in the form of snow) moving at a rapid pace.

An avalanche is like a rockslide, but on a snow-covered mountain.
Avalanches often happen when loose packed snow becomes too heavy for snow lower down a slope to support it. When the snow becomes too heavy, it creates an avalanche.
snow silde
Watch your own actions. Avoid skiing on snow at the top of a mountain or hill if other people are directly below you, as the snow could break loose and crush them .
avalanche
An avalanche is created when massive slabs of snow break loose from a mountainside and shatter like broken glass as they race downhill.
