Well, because of the Committee of Public Safety about 11-18,000 died. The French Revolution was bloody, but it wasn't like a war. The deaths were mostly innocent however, which is what gives the reign of terror it's name.
There were really three revolutions. The number of people who died in the third revolution, which was in 1871, was 20,000. Total was 50000
