Cuneiform is written on clay tablets while hieroglyphics can be found on various surfaces including stone, papyrus, and wood. From what I understand, they are very different - the Egyptian hieroglyphics were actual pictures that represented emotion, or a physical thing. An eagle represented the bird, but also flying. The cuneiform technique was created by pressing a tool into clay to create symbols. so I would say that the Egyptians were more advanced at that time. Great question. Anyone else know?

Typography is the study of type. Currently it is computer-based, and deals with type from a publishing/art standpoint. For a given project, for example, this would include selecting the font, the spacing of the lines, and general layout of the writing. It may be helpful to distinguish this from calligraphy by remembering that typesetting used to be done by craftsmen using letters on metal pieces stamped by a machineand arranging them to be printed on a press. Calligraphy is the study of letters as art as well, but calligraphy is hand-drawn lettering, using specific types of pens. Calligraphy may also include designing new fonts. typography in italics typography in italics
Well, pictographs are math. Cuneiform is one of the oldest kinds of writing. It is - contrary to pictographs - also an abstract form of writing: the horizontal and vertical 'scratches' do not form a picture of the meaning of the words. With pictographs, their meaning (or part of it) is reflected by the drawing that is made for each word.
Cuneiform was a writing system used in ancient Mesopotamia that involved making wedge-shaped marks on clay tablets. It was used for writing various languages like Sumerian, Akkadian, and others, and was mainly used for recording business transactions, administrative records, myths, and literature. Scribes would use a stylus to create the characters on the clay tablets, which were then dried and stored for future reference.

Hieroglyphics is a written language that uses characters/pictures. English uses letters and the letters create the Alphabet.
If you mean hieratic, then hieratic glyphs were mostly used in documents, poems, and stories, where as regular hieroglyphics, called demotic, was used more for everyday writing. Hope that helped!
