There are no tidal wave power stations.

Tidal waves are unpredictable. There is no way at present to capture their energy. We can capture the energy of tides and also of waves, but not of tidal waves.

How can people get electricity from sea?

Tidal power, also called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into electricity or other useful forms of power. The first large-scale tidal power plant (the Rance Tidal Power Station) started operation in 1966.

Are solar energy transport and distributions costs high?

Once you convert the solar energy to electrical energy, it makes no difference where it came from. Distribution of such energy is exactly the same, whether it came from solar energy, a nuclear power station, a tidal power station, a geothermal power station, etc.

Where is the world first tidal power plant?

The largest tidal power station in the world is the Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station. It is located in South Korea.

What is the history of tidal energy?

tidal energy is created by turbines that does make tidal power

What are France's nonrenewable and renewable resorce?

Some of France's Renewable resources are Nuclear Energy, Hydro-power energy and tidal power (Europe's biggest tidal power station) France's non-renewable resources are Coal/Peat, Oil and natural gas.

What type of resources can tidal energy be put?

Tidal power, also called tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity. Tidal energy is a renewable energy source.

What does a tidal generating station require to be effective?

Tidal energy can work in only certain locations. A tidal generating station must be in an area where the difference between high and low tides is very large. This means the tidal waters will have a great deal of energy.

Why are the turbines in a tidal power station reversible?

They are reversible so they can capture the water's energy as the tide comes in, and again was the tide goes out.

What are the Inputs of a power station?

Inputs of a power station is the air inside it produced. :) But seriously: The input to a power station is the source of energy use to make electricity. This can be water, oil, gas, coal, nuclear. In less conventional terms, wind turbines and tidal schemes are 'power stations'.

How is tidal energy effective?

Tidal energy can work in only certain locations. A tidal generating station must be in an area where the difference between high and low tides is very large. This means the tidal waters will have a great deal of energy.

How many years has tidal power been used?

The first tidal power station in the world was built on the River Rance, in France, in 1966.

What is the cost of tidal power in Canada?

These projects are planned but costs must be only an estimate at present. British Columbia Tidal Energy Corp. plans to deploy at least three 1.2 MW turbines in the Campbell River or in the surrounding coastline of British Columbia by 2009.[21] Nova Scotia Power has selected OpenHydro's turbine for a tidal energy demonstration project in the Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia, Canada
