Ethics plays a very important part in the critical thinking process. Ethics is literally morals that you hold to even when no one is watching you. In critical thinking, ethics influences the way you will think on a subject depending on what you believe. In decision-making, your personal ethics may prevent you from making a 'the end justifies the means' type of thing, regardless of having a good alternative.
