Not really. Obviously, sanitizer is better than nothing, but washing your hands is preferable in a variety of circumstances.

There are certain kinds of germs that sanitizers aren’t great at getting rid of, and many people don’t use them properly (not using enough or wiping it off prematurely, for example). Hand washing is also a better option when your hands are visibly greasy or dirty, and it’s much better at getting rid of harmful chemicals like pesticides.

However, hand washing isn’t always convenient, and there are so many cute and good-smelling hand sanitizers in the world, it would be a shame to forsake them entirely. If you use hand sanitizers, you want one with at least 60 percent alcohol for maximum effectiveness.

Not really. Before you use hand sanitizers, you should wash your hands first to lessen the bacteria. Hand sanitizers does not remove hundred percent of the bacteria that's why washing our hands with clean water is more necessary than sanitizing.

No. Sure, it's great when hand washing is unavailable or if it smells good (like from fragrance/ body products stores), but you know how most bottles says it kills "99.9% of germs"? That .1% then has no competition and it can multiply, easily making you sick. But obviously hand sanitizer is still great, especially on roads trips.

Hand sanitizer is not better than washing your hands, washing your hands is better because you use warm water and soap which kills more germs. I would recommend washing your hands but if your in a rush just use hand sanitizer cause that's a quick germ killer.

No. As a local Journalist, it's important to be clear and concise, so let me give it to you straight, its not. Some studies show that washing your hands is better for your "hand health," and can carry more organic, reliable ingredients than non-local, mass-produced sanitizers. Don't get me wrong, its not bad for you or your skin, but if you want to be certain your hands are clean, I recommend using soap and water. Of course if it is unavailable, squirt away, but if not, start lathering! Quick tip- Just be conciseness of how you clean your hands, the same way you worry about what your cleaning them with! Get in between your fingers, on your wrists, and in those fingernails. Let me know if I am wrong and have a nice day!

Most people use hand sanitizer instead of washing their hands. Although washing your hands is a better option. If you are using hand sanitizer, be sure to wipe your hands with a tissue paper after sanitizing your hands because it should not go in your mouth.

Research has shown it is better than washing your hands. This is because the hand sanitizer kills the germs, rather than just washing them away. That's why it's important to have sanitizer at your side at all times. Especially during this pandemic.

actually using soap is strong then using hand sanitizer because hand sanitizer only kills 99.9% while soap kill germs and viruses all of it and it also can kill your skin to but your skin can grow back its layers of skin to where you don't haft to worry.

Progressive consumers of health and wellness are searching for alternatives to fear-based results, a phenomenon that has been shaping wellness opinions for decades. Before dining, clean and wash your hands with soap or sanitizer. Every type of eating varies, but both are fundamentally about well-being and human performance.

Health awareness has increased, particularly after the breakdown of COVID-19, and that is driving demand for the market for hand sanitizer. A change from the past is this increase in importance. The very concept of health and wellbeing for the majority of customers is getting the energy to live an active life.

In order to avoid the spread of coronavirus, numerous healthcare professionals around the world are now suggesting washing hands daily with soap and water. Instant hand sanitizer gel is the best choice to use when there is no access to soap and water to reduce the amount of hand germs. In addition, the instant hand sanitizer gel is formulated within seconds with ethanol or ethyl alcohol ingredient that destroys 99.9% of bacteria. Some of the primary reasons that increase the demand for hand sanitizer in the globe are also moisturisers to decrease skin dryness.

CDC recommends washing hands with soap with water because handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs and chemicals on hands.

But if soap and water are not available, only then use a hand sanitizer that too with at least 60% alcohol (60-95%) for it to be efficient enough to help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

The above guidance from CDC for effective handwashing and use of hand sanitizer in community settings was developed based on research and study.

Other noteworthy mentions include:

60% Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can quickly reduce the number of microbes on hands in some situations, but do not completely get rid of all germs. Further Sanitizers do not work on greasy and extremely dirty palms. Sanitizers are also ineffective with pesticides, chemical substances and heavy metals.

Sanitizer doesn't remove actual dirt and debris. Soap kills germs, binds them, and helps physically remove them, with the water, off your skin and down the drain

Infact, FDA recommends that if you want to use a hand sanitizer, confirm it has 95% ethanol or isopropanol to be best efficient.

So, I guess an Anti-bacterial soap is the best solution and a winner in this case on basis of recommendations from Health Agencies.

Why is washing your hands after using the restroom important?

Washing your hands is one of the best ways to prevent illness. If you do not wash your hands after you blow your nose or cough, the germs will spread to what ever you touch. Example: You have a cold and cough into your hands at school. your best friend needs to borrow the pencil you just infected. She gets the illness on her hands, then rubs his/her eye. oops, you just gave your best friend the cold virus. lol. please wash your hands after you use the bathroom, cough, sneeze, or anything else. Washing your hands for 15-20 seconds, or singing the Happy Birthday song is the most effective. Hand Sanitizer works well as a substitute, though not as good.

Is hand sanitizer as effective as handwashing?

The concern over all types of infectious diseases had spurred much interest in hand sanitizers. The H1N1 flu epidemic had a major effect on attitudes toward hand hygiene. As a result, hand sanitizers are given away at health fairs and are also seen in large containers for public use. Walk into a restaurant and you will observe hand sanitizer. Before going into a hospital room you might notice hand sanitizer just outside of the door. People now carry hand sanitizer in their automobiles, gym bags and purses. As a result the hand sanitizer industry is a booming business. The question is, are hand sanitizers as effective as soap and water in killing infectious pathogens? Hand washing is the most effective way to prevent the spread of infectious disease. When soap and water are available hand washing should be the choice for cleaning and removing pathogens from the hands. The friction of rubbing the hands helps loosen dirt and germs and using running water to rinse the hands removes germs from them. However when soap and water are not options, hand sanitizer can reduce pathogens to a safe level that will prevent the spread of infection. Alcohol based sanitizers have been found very effective in killing germs on the hands. Hand sanitizing gels should be at least 60 percent alcohol to be effective. The Centers for Disease Control recommend placing the hand sanitizer in one palm and rubbing it over all surfaces of the hands until it is dry. Anytime the hands are contaminated hand washing or using a hand sanitizer is necessarily. Hands can become contaminated after touching raw meat, using the restroom, and after touching pets, livestock or other animals. Additionally hands should always be washed after sneezing, coughing or blowing one’s nose. Child care providers should also practice good hand hygiene; and make sure that soap and water or hand sanitizer is available for children to keep their hands clean whether in the classroom or on the playground. The bottom line is, whether soap and water or hand sanitizer is used, it is refreshing to see individuals taking responsibility for preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

Why is washing hands important?

Washing hands before working with food of any kind is very important. Human hands carry bacteria and other microorganisms (germ) that are picked up when using the toilet, from pets, and from countless surfaces such as door knobs, chairs and personal objects. These germs all can be transferred to food, causing contamination and spread of infectious disease. Hand washing is a basic safety precaution. also washing yoru hands is good hygene!! :)

When should I apply hand sanitizer?

Alcohol based hand sanitizers that contain at least 60% of alcohol is helpful in protecting the spread of infections. However, handwashing with soap and water is the best way to ensure personal hygiene. But what if soap and water are not available? Hand sanitizer is a good option when taking public transportation, while using public utilities. Carrying the “on the go” pack of hand sanitizer makes it easy to clean your hands at these places. Applying just 4-5 drops of hand sanitizer on the palm of your hand and then rub it across both hands and tips of the finger.
