There is the BEST game ever and it's called WolfQuest. Its where you pick your own wolf, live like one, hunt like one, and chat with other users and their wolves. I can help any one of these needs.

There is also a game called Wolf. It's a simulation game. I don't really know how to explain it but its really fun in my opinion. You can play as wolf's, mate have pups, hunt, ect.

There is Wolf and Lion, but both require DosBox.

Lion is from the same makers as Wolf. You control a lion or lioness, and either live in a pride, or as a nomad. It is like Wolf, but personally better. It gives you a map with the press of a button, a wide range of prey and possible predators - although I would have to say that mating is just as hard. If you like Wolf, I'd suggest trying Lion.

There is also Endless Forest, in which is a peaceful game but can get boring fast. You are a deer, in a forest with other deer. It is multiplayer, not one deer in an NPC. And you can customize your deer with a number of antlers and coats. It's basically a fun nature game, just making friends and 'chatting' in the deer's language - actions, not actual typing.

Unfortunately it seems no one else who answered or improved this question understood the question. If you people had played Okami than you would understand that it isn't a simulator game. Its an adventure game. Unfortunately the only similar games are Legend of Zelda, the newest entry (Twilight Princess) allows you to play as a wolf as well, so I guess that satisfies the question.
