This corresponds to the wide blade hole in the receptacle which is also the neutral side of the receptacle.

∙ 13y agoWhen you are trying to determine which wire is the hot wire then you must assume all of them are. Use a voltmeter to determine which line is hot and which is neutral. Never assume a wire is hot or not because of its identification unless you are very familiar with the circuit.
