yes and no. it obviously isn't good but it doesnt kill brain cells like people think and say. i guess you could potentially die, but ive done it a while over and over and I'm fine. don't do it too often, but that doesnt mean you can't do it for fun

If you pass out, don't get hurt in the process (like during a fall) and wake up - probably not (but it certainly isn't good for you). The problem is that whatever you are doing to pass out is too close to strangulation to be safe. Kids killing themselves when all they meant to do is pass out is a common event.
