It's not necessarily bad when you yawn frequently. A lot of people associate sleepiness or exhaustion with yawning. It may also mean you have a lack of oxygen. That could also explain why people yawn a lot when they first wake up. It's because when you are asleep, you don't breathe as often; just deeper. so, if you yawn frequently, you probably need to catch up on your sleep.
