A number of sources that I have read state they had 2K of memory (2048 bytes). and 32K of storage. To put that into perspective, a vintage Atari 2600 game cartridge (with its extremely primitive blocky graphics) was 4K. The lowest end Commodore computer was 16K, 8 times as powerful.
It could multitask 8 jobs at a time and utilized virtual machines which made the most of the computing power it had.
During the landing, the system was actually receiving too much data to be able to perform. It's been reported that a NASA engineer had commented after the mission that had they been aware of the complexities of the Apollo Guidance Control when they began to design it, they probably would have never actually attempted it and considered it too far beyond what was considered the current technology of that day.
