Well, if you have iron pills, or vitamins with extra iron, then that is why. Keep taking them though, you need them, but try to eat more fiber and drink plenty of water ( not soft drinks) to keep things "flowing" down there. Once you are off extra iron, then it should clear up. If you are not taking iron, then it might be from pressure from the growing baby, but fiber will still make it easier to go. You should be seeing a doctor, so mention it to him/her. Heaven forbid you mean "those contractions", because the length of labor differs greatly from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy. The first birth for any woman is USUALLY her longest. But a good 12 hours or more of labor, and before the actual labor, plenty of Braxton Hicks ( false labor pains) contractions.
