What's the setting? Is the person talking to you? Is the person unresponsive? Is the person in a clinical setting or in a remote part of a park? Are you getting ready to do CPR and wait for an AED or do you have a defibrillator right there, or are you just taking a routine set of vitals? Could be six seconds, could be ten seconds, could be thirty seconds. It all depends on the setting.
