Can a pregnancy test come back negative if you test too early - meaning just a few days after conception?

iYes, it is possible for pregnancy tests to be negative soon after conception. Many of the over-the-counter pregnancy tests are not sensitive enough to detect the low levels of beta HCG (pregnancy hormone). However, blood tests are much more accurate. i agree going to a doctor would the best..over the counter isn't really reliable if your looking fo ranswers soon

How many weeks does it take to know that your pregnant?

This will generally depend on the test that is used to detect a pregnancy. Blood tests are more accurate in that they can detect a pregnancy earlier. As soon as two weeks after a missed period, blood tests can detect levels of Hcg (the hormone pregnant females produce). Urine pregnancy tests generally do not detect a pregnancy before the 6th week because sometimes it takes that long for Hcg levels to rise to the point where a urine test will be sensitive enough to detect it.

If a women can find out she's pregnant after 2 weeks of sex then why do the pregnancy tests not allow you to take it until your first missed period?

Can you use ovulation predictor kits as early pregnancy tests?

An ovulation predictor kit is used to help women keep track of ovulation when they are trying to conceive. Pregnancy tests are designed to predict a special hormone in the body that pregnant women have. Since an ovulation kit is not designed to detect that pregnancy hormone, it cannot be used as an early pregnancy test or any other type of pregnancy test for that matter. OPK's and pregnancy test are not designed alike, and are not meant for the same purpose.

How do pregnancy tests work?
