hypertonic affects the animal cell by having a higher concentration of solutes than in the cell causing it to shink; which is called plasmolysis

hypertonic solution
An Animal Cell in hypertonic solution will look shriveled due to osmotic effects on the cell. the hypertonic solution means there is more water potential outside of the cell, water moves from a low water potential to a high water potential. Therefore the water diffuses out of the cell decreasing the volume bringing the cell membrane in making it look shriveled up.
Crenation is the loss of water from an animal cell due to osmosis. Lysis is the rupture of the cell wall due to too much water moving into an animal cell due to osmosis. Both crenation and lysis have drastic effects on the animal cell. Crenation is the equivalent of flaccid plant cells and lysis is the equivalent of turgid for plant cells. The key difference between lysis and turgid is that plants have a cellulose cell wall so do not rupture or burst the cell wall like animal cells with lysis do.
isotonic
The cell will shrink in size..
hypertonic means the cell has too much water, it's become water logged. In an animal cell the cell will rupture, however the cell wall of the plant cell with prevent this from happening and the plant cell with become swollen.
"hypertonic"
it will shrink
I will take the cell to be animal cell. The hypertonic solution is taken as hypertonic saline solution. The cell will shrink in that case. There will be loss of water to the exterior of the cell. The biochemical cellular functions will be adversely affected. The cell may die if the solution is sufficiently hypertonic.
1. When a plant cell is immersed in a solution with low water potential, the water potential of its cell sap is higher than that of the solution outside its cell.2. water will leave the cell by osmosis. As the cell loses water the vacuole decreases in size and the cytoplasm shrinks away from the cell wall.3. the shrinkage of cytoplasm and cell membrane away from the cell wall is known as plasmolyses or dehydrated cell. the cell is said to be plasmolysed. A plasmolysed cell can be restored to its original state by placing it in water or in a solution with high water potential.
In a hypertonic solution water is most likely to move out of the cell because it is in a high concentration and the cell will shrink. They tend to give up water across the permiable cell membrane

hypertonic
The hypertonic solution can make the plant weak or wilt because there is no water.
