On my 1999 Buick Regal the DRL module is located on the outside foot well behind the parking brake pedal under the carpet. My DRL has gone bad and is making the car quit.
If you are in the US just disable the DRL, you will just have to replace the altinator sooner if you keep them on. If not check the wiring, I believe it has separte wiring for the DRL. * thanks but i want to keep my DRL Would changing the flasher unit work
Right next to the cooling reservoir
The method to turn off the DRL (Daytime Running Lamps) in a car can vary depending on the make and model. Typically, you can check the owner's manual for specific instructions, which may involve using a switch or setting in the vehicle's settings menu. If you can't find a way to deactivate them in the manual, it may require a visit to the dealership or a professional mechanic.
The lights will go out after a few mins after you shut off the car...but if you want to turn off the Daytime running lights or the automatic headlight control, you have to pull either the relay or fuse for the DRL
Just remove the DRL fuse in the fuse box. Open drivers door and the fuse box is on the side of dash.
Simple: Remove fuse #15. It is labeled DRL/FOG. If you have fog lights you will lose those too.
fuse box under the dash drivers side, the small relay next to the turn signal flasher..
If you lift your ebrake handle one notch, it will not engage the brake, but it will turn off your drl's. Or you could always pull the fuse.. :)
"DRL" stands for "daytime running lights".....in newer model vehicles, the DRL will turn on automatically when the car is started, thus eliminating the need to turn on the headlights for visibility, although the law states that headlights must still be turned on between ½hour before sunset and ½hour after sunrise.
On my 1996 Explorer, when you set the park brake, the DRL lights shut off.
Where's DRL fuse
