What is Jaguar xj6 fuel tank size?

There are several different models of Jaguar cars called the xj6 by the manufacturer and drivers since the inception of the range in 1968. Jaguar enthusiasts tend to refer only to the Series 1,2, and 3 cars produced between 1968 and 1992 as Xj6, or XJ12 with the 12 cylinder engine fitted . The series 1, 2, and 3 XJ6 (or XJ12) has two fuel tanks fitted. The Series 1 XJ holds 12 gallons (Imperial) in each tank, a total of 24 gallons. The Series 2 and 3 XJ holds 10.5 gallons in each tank, a total of 21 gallons. Series 1 cars for the North American market hold 11 gallons in each tank, a total of 22 gallons. T

How do I enter the code in a 1994 jaguar xj12 when it has gone to safe mode?

Referring to the sound system: Use the radio preset keys to enter the 4-digit security code from the sound system ID card. This card is in your owner's document folder. If you are missing the code, your local dealer can get it by entering your VIN.

What does the Xj6 stand for in a jaguar?

The XJ bit comes from the in house project codes X - Experimental J - Jaguar 6 - 6 cylinder They just didnt rename it when they put it into production. The similar XJ12 has a, you guessed it, 12 cylinder engine. The code name for the 86-94 model was XJ40, followed by X300, X308, X350, etc. All of these were known as XJ`s though the 6 was dropped with the X300 as it had an 8 cylinder engine.

How do you open the trunk of 1996 jaguar xj12 when battery is dead?

Take a set of jumper cables, attach them to a battery or 12 volt power source, open the hood of your jaguar. Look for a small fuse box on the passenger side of the engine compartment. Find the red positive point, pull back the rubber boot and attach the positive jumper cable. Ground the black to the motor, or any other metal part of the car. Open the trunk lid.

How do you change 1980 jaguar xj6 fuel pump?

What year model of Jaguar between 1990 and 2004 is the most reliable and problem free?

Jaguar and "problem free" don't seem to be realistic words to use in the same sentence. They are stylish vehicles, but not very practical. 1990-1994.5 XJ's (both XJ6 & XJ12) are known as XJ-40's, and where blessed with numerous little headaches, Lucas electrical componets and the poorly designed door handle components are the most notorious. Then Ford Motor Company purchased Jaguar from British Leyland and the quality improved dramatically. So my OPINION is to look at 1994 1/2 models or newer for a daily driver. They are known as the XJ-300's and have had NO recalls and an EXCELLENT safety record. The are comfortable but not very fuel efficient. BUT as with most luxury imports, service and parts are expensive. There are MANY websites and Cyberstores to purchase parts and tools for the DIY'ers.

How do you diagnose What is wrong when transmission light comes on on 1994 jaguar xj12?

I had a similar problem on a 1993 Sovereign. I'd cover about 5 miles then the Check Engine light would come on and the car would drive like a bag of nails. Look at the temperature sensor; if it's sending the wrong information to the ECU then the ECU will set the wrong fuel mixture. Clean the contacts of the temperature sensor first and if that doesn't work then replace it. Should cost in the region of £10 to £20 from a Jag dealer. Instantly fixed the problem for me. Biggles

How do you know if oil filter is dirty on my jaguar 1996 xj6?

Seriously? Is the oil dirty then the filter is dirty. Change it every 3-4k miles! On my 88 XJ6 I change it ever 4k miles since it does hold 8 quarts, on my 94 XJ12 I change it ever 6k miles as it holds 11 quarts. If you drive it like a race car in the dead of summer change it more often, if its really dirty before the miles are up then change it anyways. It's the most important thing to do for these old gals.
