Ensure vehicle is properly supported and always wear safety goggles. Also use common sense- do not smoke or create sparks with gas vapor in air!
Spray a rust penetrator (PB-blaster, WD-40, etc.) On nuts that secure straps that hold gas tank.
Do not strip nuts! Use a six point deep socket.
Be prepared to catch tank after removing nuts that secure it.
