naturally...no but if you scratch your skin alot, all the dirt from your skin, gets underneath your nails, or if you dig sand or dirt.....
yes it is
if your hand comes into contact with dirt or fecal matter or dirty water and its under your fingernails, YES you can get worms if you eat your fingernails. This is because small eggs from worms or other parasites are found in the dirt and fecal matter and they hatch once ingested.
dirt
To limit the dirt from getting under the sensitive part of your finger reducing infection. Also to not make you look weird
Yes, fingernails have germs under them.
fingernails shouls not curl under or it just depends on how you would like your nails
Bacteria can easily grow on fingernails, so long nails aren't sanitary enough when cooking for the public as a chef does. Even if one washes their hands frequently, it still doesn't remove the dirt and bacteria from under the fingernails. Also, food tends to get under long nails, and it's more difficult to dice food with long nails because they get in the way.
since your fingers are constantly touching dirt and germs it is a barrier between the outside world and your skin...they therefore help prevent infection. that's why they say the part of your body that contains the most dirt is your fingernails and that's why you should constantly wash your hands :)
Under your fingernail, you may have germs that can you make sick.
The dirt under grass can be called soil.
dirt
If you get surgery, maybe. But naturally, No. Bear claws are like really really thick fingernails. Guess what? Sadly we have very thin fingernails. To keep your fingernails nice and strong. Cut them so they are short, (this will also make them non germy so your hands are clean. Most dirt is under your finger/toenails.) and worst of all: DO NOT CHEW YOUR FINGERNAILS! This will flatten them and make them thin and weak. If you want strong 'claws' i guess you can get them long? and cut them to have a point but it isnt very attractive... and it is a saftey hazard. Thank you and have a germ free day.
