autoclaves sterilize jewelry...im not exactly sure how they work but i do kno it uses heat 2 sterilize it

An autoclave is a pressurized device designed to heat aqueous solutions above their boiling point to achieve sterilization. It was invented by Charles Chamberland in 1879.[1] The term autoclave is also used to describe an industrial machine in which elevated temperature and pressure are used in processing materials.

The above definition was supplied by our good friends at Wikipedia: the online dictionary.

Basically an auto clave uses heat and steam pressure in a contained atmospere to sterilize medical equipment and in the tattoo shop for tubes, clamps, tapers, jewelry, and other reusable metal [Usually stainless steel} parts that need hospital sterilization..Sometimes jewelry is sterilized just prior to insertion in a 'cold kill' or liquid sterilant...

Hope this helps............TatuBaron

NO! use disposables and take a blood path cross contamination class. just trow away decontaminate and your good to go!!!

Actually you 'can' sterilize tattoo equipment without an autoclave, it is called: Chemical Sterilization and Radioactive Sterilization. Both are very expensive and very dangerous. For example Wavicide (an extremely potent form of formaldehyde) used in a heated ultrasonic cleaner produces a gas that is deadly to any living life-form, so it requires a special venting system during operation and outside air supplies while working with the fluid; plus a special cleansing bath to remove it afterwords. Needless to say just mentioning Radioactive Sterilization should impart the dangers involved with that form of process, without much need to comment more.

Can you use rubbing alcohol to sterilize tattoo needles?

No you can't use rubbing alcohol to sterilize tattoo needles. Rubbing alcohol might disinfect the needles but sterilization for tattoo equipment is usually done with a "Steam Sterilizer (Autoclave)" which removes spores by applying heat and pressure to the equipment.

How can I sterilize needles used in tattooing?

You really should not be reusing needles to tattoo someone. If you are going to though, the only way to properly sterilize them is by using an autoclave. An autoclave uses extreme pressure and heat to kill germs and bacteria.

Where is the cheapest place to get a tattoo?

If you want to get a tattoo (permanent skin art), do you really want the cheapest place? The cheapest place might not sterilize their equipment or use fresh disposable supplies for each client. The cheapest place might not hire experienced artists. The best tattoo place for you is the place that did a tattoo that you saw which you really, really liked.

What is ultrasonic cleaner for tattoo guns?

the best way is always bag your machine.... but when the need arises and sometimes it does, the best way is a 60/40 bleach mixture 60 parts water 40 bleach this will however over time lead to rust and the bleach will leave deposits on your machine so an extra good wipedown will help prevent this. you can also do bleach wash then alcohol rub down. hope this helps

How do you know if a tattoo place is clean?

Your general impression of the place is a good place to start. Past that, ask them if they have an autoclave. This is the machine that sterilizes needles, jewelry, equipment, etc. If they do not have one, chances are it's a pretty shady establishment. But having an autoclave does not a clean tattoo make. The place should not smell like anything but Bactine, ink, and surface cleaner. Surfaces should be uncluttered, dust-free, and smooth. I've said this in other posts, and I'll say it many more I'm sure: A tattoo is a wound. It should be treated like a wound. A tattoo parlor, then, should be as clean as a doctor's office.

How do you steralize your tongue ring?

Well at home you can't actually "sterilize" your barbell however if you are looking to just clean it, take it apart and place the parts in a small container or cup and pour 70% Isoproply alcohol on it and leave it for about 15 ~ 30 minutes in the alcohol. That should pretty much kill the bacteria in and on the barbell. Sterilizing the barbell requires the use of a autoclave (used in piercing studios, tattoo shops and hospitals) to actually sterilize the barbell (cycle takes about 30 ~40 minutes). You could take it down to your local piercing studio and for a small fee they would autoclave the barbell for you.
