In short, probably no Lithium is a mood stabilizing drug, which is indicative of bipolar treatment. However efexor is a serotonin and noradrenaline (nor-epinephrine) reuptake inhibitor, and is thus contraindicated in the treatment of bipolar disorder. It is thought that noradrenaline is responsible for the manic phases seen in bipolar, so a drug increasing its levels should not be given in the treatment of bipolar disorder. It is likely that efexor is being given because of the severity of the depression, and the lithium is being given to overcome the mood unstabilizing effects of it As with all things medical its probably best to ask your doctor why they gave you that combination.
Yes, it's called Venlafaxine
When off the efexor XL will you be depressed
Sort of: it is used to treat anxiety and depression
No - it's an anti-depressant which is a totally different family of medication
Effexor XR (extended release) is available in 37.5 mg, 75 mg, and 150 mg dosage strengths.
There are no significant reactions between Valium and Lexapro. I actually take the two myself and I am an RN. I take Lexapro in the AM and Valium at night to sleep. Did your doctor prescribe these drugs to you? You should be consulting them about this question. Make sure anytime you see your doctor you tel them every medication you are taking (including herbal meds).
Valium is derived from an artificial opiate. Efexor is of the SRI chain of anti depressants. Under normal safely prescribed doses this should induce a sedative calming result, long term use of Valium can result in withdrawal symptoms. Personally I have found benzo type meds are best to used only when required and not on a daily basis, PRN use is safe.
Try an herb called, Vitex.
Hi!! I've been taking Efexor 75mg for a couple of weeks now and from personal experience I wouldn't bother drinking.. I've now decided the 2 day hangovers and vomiting the next day just isn't worth it. This was a kind of hard decision for me as I like a drink.. Even with just a few drinks I felt a bad head. I hope this is of help as I only found your question because I was researching the same thing..
I have no idea what your talking about. Try to improve your question. The only thing I can tell you is yeah I get nervous.
